Hydraulic connection diagram of a water pump with a mechanical seal pump and pump vessel

This is the most common type of waterworks. The waterworks consist of a pump (pos. 1) to which a suitable connection fitting (pos. 3) is screwed into the discharge spout, which serves to connect the other components of the waterworks as well as the outlet of the entire unit (for connection to the house distribution). A pressure vessel (pos. 2), a pressure switch (item 4) and a pressure gauge (item 5) are connected to the connection fitting. The suction pipe (pos.6) is a condition of the correct operation of the waterworks, at the end of which a suction bin with a non-return valve (pos. 7) must be located.

Some pumps contain a non-return valve already as a component directly integrated on the pump discharge port (this is documented in the pump documentation), in which case the suction strain can be used without a non-return valve . However, in order to increase reliability, service life and improve the working conditions of the pump, the use of a suction cup, including a non-return valve, is recommended.

Control & Controls

Control elements and control elements allow their own separate waterworks operation.

The base of this automation is a pressure switch that switches the electrical circuit of the pump motor when the system pressure drops below the set pressure limit and, on the other hand, disconnects the pump motor from the power supply when it is the upper set pressure (tripping) is reached. The switch is already set in the factory at the required switching and on /pressure and lifetime does not require any special maintenance. It is only necessary to check the pressure values at which the switching / disconnects the pump motor. Due to the fatigue of the spring system, the working area of this switch may change slightly over time. If the operating range of the domestic waterworks is adjusted for operational reasons, the operating pressure range can be set both for the pressure switching pressure and for the differential pressure with which the pressure switch operates (this difference can be affected by this difference release pressure level). When adjusting the pressure switch, follow the instructions supplied with the specific switch type.
